HOLIDAY UPDATE

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, PAGE ONESIES!

Can you BELIEVE it?? Thanksgiving is nearly upon us; Hannukah starts in six days, and Christmas will be here next month! Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday I was dying of heat at the BEAUTIFUL (but air condition-less) Hilton at Cabo San Lucas! Now, the days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder, and it’s beginning to look a lot like… holiday debt! And seasonal flu! And spending quality time with those weird relatives; you know, the ones on your dad’s side who smell like mothballs and may or may not be on a watch list of some kind. You know who I’m talking about.

Anyhoo, we here at Page One Comics are getting ourselves prepared for the massive amounts of FOOD we’ll be consuming over the next several weeks, and since we’re in a THANKFUL frame of mind, we thought we’d take a moment to recognize all of you who are a part of the Page One family.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

We started this journey a little over a year ago with the release of DragonRage: A Cradle of Embers, and we followed that up with a second chance edition of Issue One earlier this year. The response from all of you was INCREDIBLE! We ran two campaigns on Indiegogo, and we not only blew our goals COMPLETELY out of the water, we also completed BOTH campaigns and fulfilled one hundred percent by July of this year! That’s right! Two separate campaigns! FULFILLED completely! In less than ten months! Amazing, right??

So, where do we go from here? Glad you asked!

A LITTLE SELF PROMO

You guys LOVED DragonRage: A Cradle of Embers, and boy, did you let us know! The wonderful colors by Andrew Dalhouse; the awesome guest pencils by Jas Singh; the incredible pencils and inks of Jimmy Reyes… you guys praised it all! And shout out to the unsung hero, Eric Weathers, for his professional quality lettering, because NOTHING makes a book look like amateur hour like bad lettering! Heck, a few of you even praised little ol’ me for writing the whole thing! At the end of the day, the only complaint you had was you wanted MORE.

So, we said OKAY. We’ll give you more.

DRAGONRAGE: THE BLOODY FATE OF KINGS

Not long ago, I turned in a MASSIVE thirty-two-page script for the next issue of your new favorite comic, DragonRage, and as you read this, that very script is being transformed into an eye-popping, page-turning EXTRAVAGANZA! You think Issue One was good? You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet! This next issue really is the GOOD STUFF! With almost FIFTY PERCENT more story, this book will absolutely blow you away!

Now, I know a lot of you have been asking, “Hey, butt-heads, WHEN is the next issue coming out??” Well, we are hard at work on that very thing! And soon, VERY soon, we’ll have a date on the CAMPAIGN LAUNCH for Issue Two of DragonRage!

A WELL-DESERVED VACAY!

But first, we here at Page One are taking a few weeks off to spend with our families and enjoy the holidays. And eat LOTS of food. And when it’s all over, we’re gonna get RIGHT back to it, hammerin’ out all that luscious DRAGONRAGE goodness you’ve been craving!

But don’t think we’re going away completely! Oh, no! We’ll still do our livestreams and reach out to you on social media. And I’m getting my blog in gear with all kinds of tips on writing and creating comics… It’ll be just like we’re hanging out with you in person, except you won’t notice all your leftovers and snacks missing!

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!

Until we return, take care of yourselves and your loved ones, and have an AMAZING Thanksgiving, Hannukah, Kwanza, Christmas, Festivus, and anything else you happen to celebrate… we don’t discriminate!

And, as always, MUCH LOVE AND THANKS TO YOU ALL!

Dave
